시플랩은 건축, 도시, 조경을 경계없이 통합적 관점에서 탐구한다. 공간유형, 모빌리티, 스마트도시, 공공영역, 생태환경, 인프라스트럭쳐 등에 대한 연구와 설계를 진행하며, 그 과정과 결과를 논문, 공모전, 특허, 강의, 전시 등 다양한 형태의 미디어로 제안한다. 시플랩은 2016년 뉴욕에서 설립되었다.

박치영은 시플랩의 디렉터이자 숭실대학교 건축학부 조교수이다. 뉴욕 겐슬러, 필드오퍼레이션스, 포트어바니즘에서 근무하며 다양한 스케일의 국제 프로젝트를 수행하였고, 서울 정림건축과 오피스박김에서 실무한 경험이 있다. 펜실베니아대학교(유펜)에서 도시설계 전공으로 조경학 석사학위와 숭실대학교에서 건축학 학사학위를 취득하였고, 현재 서울대학교에서 박사과정을 진행 중이다. 2023년 서울도시건축비엔날레 참여작가로 선정되었으며, 2018년에는 서울시에서 주최한 잠실종합운동장 주경기장 리모델링 국제 현상에서 3등을 입상하였다. 2020년부터 한국연구재단의 지원을 받으며 "자율주행시대의 도시재생 전략과 가이드라인 개발" 연구를 수행 중이다.

City Place Laboratory (CPLAB) is a creative design and research group studying architecture, landscape, and city beyond  boundaries. Our current interest focuses on public domain, spatial typologies, urban mobility, ecology, and smart regeneration of built environment. The processes and results of our studies have been featured via publications, design projects, patents, lectures, and exhibitions. CPLAB was founded in New York in 2016.

​Chiyoung Park is an assistant professor at Soongsil University School of Architecture and director of CPLAB. He has professional experience in New York from Gensler, Field Operations, and PORT where he practiced in a variety of mixed-use development and public realm projects from conceptual frameworks throughout all design phase delivery in major global cities. He received a Master of Landscape Architecture concentrated in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from Soongsil University. He is the first prize winner of 100-year Masterplan Design Competition hosted by Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2023 and a 3rd prize winner of Jamsil Olympic Park Main Stadium Remodeling International Competition  held by Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2018. He is currently a principal investigator of the research project "Urban Regeneration Strategies and Design Guideline in the Autonomous Vehicle Era" supported from the National Research Foundation of Korea.
